James (Jim) Grimaldi is a criminal defense attorney in Lincoln, Illinois. He practices exclusively in the area of DUI, Criminal, and Traffic law.
In 1995, Jim enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Paratrooper in the Military Intelligence branch. During his initial training he became fluent in the Arabic language and received degrees in Foreign Language from the Defense Language Institute and Monterey Peninsula College, and subsequently received a commission as a Military Intelligence Officer, a position he held until the end of his nine-year military career.
Jim attended the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign, Illinois, where he graduated with honors. From 2004 to 2007, Jim worked as Assistant State’s Attorney in Sangamon County, Illinois, holding the position of Chief DUI Prosecutor. He returned to Lincoln with his family in 2007 and became a private defense attorney. In 2010 he opened Grimaldi Law Office, where he maintains a successful DUI and criminal defense practice. Jim has been a guest presenter at prior DUI Continuing Legal Education seminars as both a prosecutor and defense attorney.
Jim is a member of the National College for DUI Defense, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Illinois State Bar Association, Sangamon County Bar Association, and Logan County Bar Association.
